Climate Forestry, in collaboration with EcoChoice UK, is proposing Motion 21 at the FSC General Assembly in Vancouver, Canada.

The problem

Currently, the FSC only concentrates on developing tools for the voluntary carbon market, and have no position to engage with delegates supporting the Climate Change negotiations. Considering there are 195 signatories to the Climate Change Convention, how did the FSC miss this opportunity?

The solution

Motion 21 aims to strengthen FSC to support Signatories and Parties to the Climate Change Convention meet their greenhouse gas reduction commitments by investigating key modalities of the Paris Agreement, i.e., the Cancun safeguards.
